Bids

SERSG administers bids on behalf of its members in strict compliance with all applicable regulations, Massachusetts General Laws and executive orders.  These bids ensure a fair, competitive and transparent process, and result in cost-effective supply and service contracts for participating municipalities.

We partnered with the Massachusetts Purchasing Group in 2021 to publish solicitations with other agencies across Massachusetts. This platform notifies vendors at no cost when bid requirements match their services.  We hope vendors find this system useful to access bid opportunities. Visit us on the Massachusetts Purchasing Group.

SERSG routinely administers six or more bids annually for its members as follows: DPW Services, DPW Supplies, Paper, and Water & Sewer Treatment Chemicals every year, Office Supplies every two years, and Drug and Alcohol Testing Services every three years, with additional bids as needed.

Frequently Asked Questions:
How can I be notified when a bid is posted?
SERSG maintains bid-specific lists and will notify vendors that requested bid documents in prior years.  You may also register at bidnetdirect.com/massachusetts/sersg to be notified of future bid opportunities with us and our partners at the Massachusetts Purchasing Group.  IFBs and RFPs will be provided by request to SERSG@sersg.org.

Where else can I find information about these bids?
In compliance with Massachusetts General Laws, our IFBs and RFPs are also advertised in a local newspaper (Boston Globe), in the state's Goods & Services Bulletin or Central Register as appropriate, and on the state executive branch's CommBuys division website.

After contracts are awarded, all documents between municipalities and vendors are produced and distributed.  Some DPW Service contracts may be renewed for up to three years.
